Does your team spend extensive time making calls to customers, reminding them of appointments or giving them routing information? If so, your unified communications (UC) solution might be able to save your business time and money.
Adtran recently expanded its UC portfolio with the NetVanta UC Notification Server (UCNS). This automated notification application can deliver outbound information by phone or email.
Consider the endless applications for communicating with customers, business partners and more:
- Appointment reminders
- Emergency notifications
- Test results
- Closure and scheduling notices
- Order, shipment and inventory status
- Severe weather warnings
- Volunteer mobilization
Adtran already has seen a major success story for the NetVanta solution with its customer, Panacea O’Neill Medical Group in Madison, Ala. The medical practice specializes in providing both preventative medicine and disease management to the entire family and sees an average of 60 patients per day. Panacea O’Neill Medical Group began looking for a way to automate its notification process due to time and resource concerns, as the practice only had the capacity to notify a few select appointments for approaching days.
“ADTRAN’s NetVanta UCNS allows us to save money from avoiding missed appointments when patients would have either forgotten their preset appointment or failed to actually schedule an appointment,” said Tiernan O’Neill, office manager for Panacea O’Neill Medical Group.
O’Neill said the practice is also using the NetVanta UCNS to initiate patient reminders for projected follow-up appointments needed for disease management patients.
“This specific notification list, that we had been calling manually, was far more extensive and time-consuming than our appointment reminders, and it was crucial that this process be thoroughly documented as completed for medical liability purposes,” O’Neill said. “The NetVanta UCNS provides this level of tracking and accountability and was a key reason this system is now in our network.”
The NetVanta UCNS also allows customers flexibility to personalize the message that is delivered. Each recipient feels they are being treated as an individual, and they have the option to transfer to a live office receptionist should they have any questions or wish to re-schedule the recommended appointment. In addition, the systems reporting functionality provides organizations the feedback loop they need to know when calls were completed, if customers require follow-up, and if answering machines were reached versus the intended party.
“Ensuring that our customers have the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with their client base is a key value that Adtran is bringing to market with the NetVanta UC Notification Server,” said Jeff Wissing, NetVanta UC product manager at Adtran. “Adding this capability to our broad unified communications portfolio is a natural extension of our commitment to ensure our customers have the broadest range of innovative solutions designed to meet their specific business goals and objectives.”
